Folk and geographical stories of any country are a source of understanding the social behaviors and actions of any society. Hormozgan, as one of the important subcultures of Iran, is no exception to this rule. The present article is qualitatively conducted using an analytical-descriptive method on the story collection "Fear and trembling" by Gholamhossein Saedi, and it seeks to show that it can be seen as a representation of "postcolonial" discourses. Saedi, using ancient legends and ancient beliefs of the people of southern Iran and utilizing symbolic mythological elements, has illustrated the contrast between tradition and modernity and other problems of current societies, especially third world countries. The theoretical basis and framework of this research are based on the postcolonial and orientalist theories of Edward Said. He is one of the most important researchers who has pointed out the role of these feedbacks in the colonial world. This article attempts to answer whether reproducing and rereading this work without a critical approach leads to a colonial perspective. Accordingly, based on Edward Said's orientalist theories on Saedi's six stories, this research seeks to reveal the grounds of colonial domination in its various forms, including the transmission of legends and myths, in the form of cultural hegemony, and with the help of postcolonial theory, to address more subtle and precise details in the discourse of the colonizer and the colonized
